The address of the studio itself is on S Bixel St, but this particular area is near S Beaudry Ave. You can see the area from some public spots, such as near the intersection of W 6th St / S Beaudry Ave, but it only offers a side view from a distance. The studio has been used in hundreds of productions, with this particular area appearing in the films “Frailty,” “Wrath Of Man” and “Inspector Gadget,” just to name a few.

The 1992 Joe Pesci comedy “My Cousin Vinny,” while set in rural Alabama, was mostly filmed in small towns around Georgia. Even with the current tax incentives creating a filming boom in the state of Georgia, “My Cousin Vinny” stands apart for having chosen towns not heavily seen on film.
At the beginning of the film, Bill, played by Ralph Macchio and his friend Stan visit the Sac-O-Suds convenient store, where a crime transpires and sets the story into motion. The store remains in operation all these years later.

The General Putnam Motel and Restaurant where Vinny tries grits was partially destroyed in a fire in 2018. The property had remained closed for years, but was in the process of being renovated when the fire occurred, with the cause believed to be electrical. It is unknown if the building will be restored in the wake of the damages. However, we were able to visit prior to the fire.

If you’re a fan of the film, it’s a nice way to spend an afternoon roaming the smaller towns of Georgia where the story unfolds. Even decades later, many of the locations remain relatively unchanged.
“Too Old to Die Young” from director Nicolas Winding Refn is, depending on how you look at it, either a TV series or a long film. Refn himself prefers to view it as the latter. Most of the production took place around the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, with some additional filming in New Mexico. Here we’ll cover the locations episode by episode. Some locations of course appear over multiple episodes. This article contains many spoilers for the show, so please do not proceed unless you’ve seen it in it’s entirety.
Volume 1 – “The Devil”
The first episode opens with Martin Jones, played by Miles Teller and his partner Larry, played by Lance Gross, standing in front of this mural along the side of a taco restaurant in Studio City.

Unbeknownst to Martin and Larry, they are being watched from across the street by Jesus, played by Augusto Aguilera.
Martin and Larry pull over a young woman in the parking lot of a largely abandoned shopping plaza in North Hollywood known as the Valley Plaza. The area is a popular filming location, having also recently appeared in “Captain Marvel.” The Blockbuster Video store where Carol Danvers first arrives is one of the store fronts in the background.

The police car is parked in the area to the left near the tree.
After taking money from the girl they’ve pulled over, they let her go and Larry walks over towards a restaurant called “The Lone Drifter.” This is not a real establishment, rather a vacant building dressed up by the production. It too was seen in “Captain Marvel,” dressed as a music venue called “The Slow Club,” where Carol makes a call at a payphone.
Jesus is parked just beside the building, where he approaches and shoots Larry. The fire hydrant to the right is where Larry’s cell phone is recovered.

Martin returns fire on Jesus with the Regency Valley Plaza theater seen in the background.
After the shooting, Jesus escapes driving down Sylvian St and turning right onto Laurel Canyon Blvd. Martin calls in the shooting and surprisingly states the actual location of the scene to dispatch, rather than a fictionalized address, which is a somewhat rare occurrence in film and television.
The police station where Martin works, seen frequently throughout the show, is the Sunkist Headquarters building in Sherman Oaks. It is seen mostly from interior views in the show.

The building faces the 101 freeway and Westfield shopping mall, both of which are seen through the windows in various scenes.
Not far from the police station, Martin parks here and walks to a payphone to call Damian, played by Babs Olusanmokun. This area is the rear parking lot behind a shoe repair and dry cleaners, looking out over a gas station and bank building. There is no actual payphone there.
Damian runs his operation out of an ice skating rink in Van Nuys. The location appears many times in the show, from a variety of angles both from the interior and exterior. Here is the front entrance.

The parking lot is featured in several scenes. First, Martin meets Damian to say he only wants to kill those who have committed horrible acts. Volume 2 – “The Lovers”
Don Ricardo’s estate, where much of episode 2 takes place, is the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley. The property regularly hosts weddings and special events. It is otherwise a private estate, however, only allowing guests by appointment. The only road leading to the ranch is typically gated shut with no trespassing signs, making it unfortunately closed to the public. The property has also appeared in “Babylon,” Oliver Stone’s “Savages,” “Jobs” starring Ashton Kutcher and in the second season of “True Detective.”

Volume 3 – “The Hermit”
In episode 3, the character of Viggo, played by John Hawkes, is introduced. As he is transporting a dead body in his trunk, he suddenly runs out of gas. He pulls over to this alley in Van Nuys.

Not thinking clearly, Viggo locks himself out of his car. In the neighboring parking lot, gunshots suddenly ring out as an unrelated crime takes place. Viggo decides to escape on foot, leaving the key with his fingerprint inside the car. The next morning Martin arrives and discovers the key, putting him on the trail of Viggo.

Diana, played by Jena Malone, orchestrates Viggo’s targets and regularly meets with him at the Hansen Dam Aquatic Center. The pool has a picturesque mountain range spanning the backdrop. It is depicted as quiet and isolated in the show, but in reality, it’s a popular spot for families to visit.

Janey then walks over to meet her father at an art gallery. This is geographically accurate, as the location really is just a few doors down from the bar. Martin’s next target is a Korean man that he tracks down at this burger restaurant in Burbank.

As Martin pulls the gun, he finds himself conflicted about whether the man really deserves death and decides to find an alternate solution. Once again, the route they drive is geographically accurate and just a short distance from the burger restaurant.

Volume 5 – “The Fool”
Episode 5 was filmed on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We do not yet have specific location information at this time.
Volume 6 – “The High Priestess”
Back in the Valley, Alfonso attempts to get in the good graces of Jesus by ordering a hit on Damian. He visits Devante at this auto shop in Van Nuys and hires him to perform the hit for $6,000.

Devante then outsources the job to Jaime for $2,000, who in turn outsources the hit to a junkie named Gameboy for $200 and some crystal meth. Gameboy stops by this apartment and does some drugs, tearing the photo of his target in two in the process and mixing up Damian with Celestino. The address is on Bakman Ave in North Hollywood, but the view seen in the show is actually the back side of the building, on an unnamed road next to the electrical towers.

Gameboy is then seen passing the electrical towers and turning down Kittridge St to go kill Damian. Things do not go as planned.
Volume 7 – “The Magician”
Janey’s father Theo, played by William Baldwin, takes Martin to a screening room, where he plays a scene of a show within a show. The scene is very meta, mimicking the scene from episode 1 where Martin and Larry pull over a woman. This was filmed at an auto shop very close to the location of the final scene in the show.

Volume 8 – “The Hanged Man”
Martin and Viggo’s next target takes them to an abandoned shopping mall. This is the former Hawthorne Plaza Shopping Center. The plaza has been abandoned for years, with on-again, off-again plans for demolition. In the meantime, it has become a popular spot for filming and photography. It has been seen in such films at “Gone Girl,” “Minority Report,” “John Dies At the End,” and “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” as well as the TV series “Westworld.” The building is closed to the public and regularly patrolled by security, so unless you have permission from the city or someone filming, it is trespassing to enter the grounds. It is a popular spot for abandon building enthusiasts, however, and quite a few people have managed to get inside over the years.

The High Priestess of Death executes everyone in sight at the Sierra Pelona Motel in Santa Clarita. The motel also appeared in the films “The Wizard,” “Near Dark,” “The Grifters” and “Crossroads,” as well as the TV series “Westworld.” The phone booth was not a prop and really exists at the motel.

Volume 9 – “The Empress”
In the penultimate episode, Diana has a vision which changes her eyes. She visits a mysterious woman to explain her vision and fix her eyes. All of the decor seen in the front of the shop is real and was not a flourish of the production. This location is right across the street from the scene in episode 1 where Martin and Larry pull over the young woman.

Volume 10 – “The World”

Larry Clark’s 2002 film “Ken Park,” written by Harmony Korine, is set in the town of Visalia, California and while some filming did take place there, much of it actually occurred around the San Fernando Valley. Ken passes this mural at the corner of S Court St and E Acequia Ave, which surprisingly remains unchanged nearly twenty years later.

He then makes his way to Provident Skatepark, where the montage ends in violence. The skatepark is still open and actively used by skaters. While it is listed as being on W Murray Ave, it is easiest to access by driving along N Jacob St. A building blocks the view, but if you turn next to the railroad tracks and drive down what looks like a parking lot, you’ll reach the park.

Claude’s abusive father, along with his buddy, go out trying to pick up prostitutes at Circus Liquor, located in North Hollywood. The liquor store and large clown sign was also seen in “Clueless,” “The Living End,” the 2005 remake of “The Bad News Bears” and Snoop Dogg’s music video for “Murder Was the Case.”

While much of J.C. Chandor’s 2019 heist film “Triple Frontier” is set in South America, it was mostly filmed in O’ahu, Hawaii, with a few scenes filmed in Colombia and the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
Ben Affleck’s character is introduced unsuccessfully trying to sell a property to prospective buyers at Pae Ko Gardens in Kapolei. As he exits, Oscar Isacc is outside waiting to speak with him.

The freeway establishing shot in South America is actually the iconic Interstate H-3 in O’ahu, also known as the John A. Burns Freeway, which crosses east and west over the Southeast side of the island. The freeway is known for it’s viaducts running alongside the lush Hawaiian landscape. We could not replicate the aerial view seen in the film, but here is a view of the freeway from one of the nearby neighborhoods.

This is the view actually driving the H-3. Some visual effects were used in the film to add a small village near the road.
The house where the heist takes place was a composite of a couple different locations. The main building is part of the historic Clarence H. Cooke Residence, which can be found on Old Pali Road in Honolulu. It’s actually almost directly across the street from George Clooney’s house in “The Descendants.” Unfortunately, the building seen in the film is not visible from the road.
The gate and surrounding jungle seen in the film were actually filmed at Kualoa Ranch (49-560 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744). Unfortunately, the area where the gate set was built was not identified on their movie tour. Here is a view of the real gate to the Clarence H. Cooke Residence, which of course was never seen from this residential view in the film.

The crew can be seen having drinks at this cottage, which sits near the the Moli’i Fishpond in Kailua. The property is actually owned by Kualoa Ranch. This cottage building can also be seen in the Bruce Willis film “Tears of the Sun.” The surrounding buildings and pond have also been featured in many movies, such as “Jurassic World,” “50 First Dates,” “Snatched,” “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” “You, Me and Dupree” and TV show “Lost.”
This area, while private, can be seen as part of the Premier Movie Site Tour of Kualoa Ranch. It’s worth mentioning that parts can also by seen by visiting the local shops near the pond, which rent their buildings from Kualoa Ranch. They offer tours of their own near the water for a small fee, but the Premier Movie Site Tour offered by the ranch is our recommended way to see it.

The helicopter crash site was filmed on the main property of Kualoa Ranch. Their tours do not go up close to the exact site, but they do pass nearby and offer a view in the distance. A couple buildings from the film, seen on the left side, are still standing. Countless productions have also filmed in this area, including the 1998 remake of “Mighty Joe Young,” “Windtalkers” and dozens more.

The TV series “GLOW” tells the real life story of a 1980s women’s wrestling promotion called the “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.” The show, starring Alison Brie, was primarily set around the San Fernando Valley in Southern California for the first two seasons, before shifting to Las Vegas for the third season.
The exterior of the gym where the ladies train can be found at the San Fernando Masonic Lodge. The angle shown is from the back of the building. There is a gate on the front side preventing vehicle access to this area. There is also fencing along the back. However, there is an alley running behind the property, allowing for views of the location. The interior of the gym was a set built on a sound stage.

The diner the girls frequent is Cadillac Jack’s in Sun Valley. It is no longer an active restaurant establishment, instead it is used solely as a filming location or event space. The building is actually part of the same property as the hotel used in the show and located directly beside it. The restaurant has been used in countless productions, including “Grease 2,” “The Whole Ten Yards,” the TV shows “Vanderpump Rules,” “MacGuyver” and dozens more. It has also been featured in many music videos, such as CeeLo Green’s “Forget You” and Mandy Moore’s “Candy.”
It should be noted that this location, including the hotel, has gained reputation in recent years for disliking unsolicited visitation. Cones block off most of the entrances. Due to the filming history, as well as the unique look of the property, it often attracts interest from the general public. We had no issues when we visited, but there are numerous comments online from others with more unpleasant experiences. If you do visit, keep in mind that they have apparently become sensitive about the issue and be careful not to trespass.

The girls attend a party at the house of the producer Bash. This was filmed at the Circles on the Point mansion in Malibu. The 1994 film Bruce Willis film “Color Of Night” also filmed here, as well as the TV series “Jean-Claude Van Johnson.”

The Dusty Spur motel where the girls reside is actually the Pink Motel in Sun Valley. It’s part of the same property as the diner on the show and sits directly beside it. It is not an operational motel, rather a set used for filming or special events. As mentioned earlier, according to many online comments, the property is not receptive to public visitation these days, preferring only professional clients. The motel property has been featured in countless productions, including “The House Bunny” and “Drive” (interiors only), as well as the TV shows “Westworld,” “Dexter” and “The O.C.”

The girls celebrate securing sponsorship by grabbing some burgers at Foster’s Freeze. The same location was used in “Pulp Fiction,” whenever Butch crosses paths with Marsellus and gets into a car collision.

Seeking additional funding, the girls attend a fundraiser at Bash’s mother’s house. The home, found in Pasadena, was also famously used in the sitcom “Benson,” as well as in the films “American Gigolo” and “Monster-In-Law.”
The party house from the 1998 teen comedy “Can’t Hardly Wait” can be found in Altadena, California. The house has been used in a variety of productions over the years, including “American Pie,” “American Pie 2,” “Bye Bye Love,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” “Cheaper By The Dozen,” “Crazy On The Outside” and “I Know Who Killed Me,” as well as such TV shows as “The Mentalist,” “This Is Us,” “7th Heaven,” “NCIS,” “Criminal Minds,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Desperate Housewives” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
In the sequel comedy “22 Jump Street,” the church used as the police headquarters in the first film is briefly seen again.

Over at the Sony lot in Culver City, California, you can find this football helmet shaped vehicle, used in an action sequence in the film.

The classic 1994 comedy “Dumb and Dumber” is primarily set in the cities of Providence, Rhode Island and Aspen, Colorado. However, aside from some brief road clips and establishing shots, the production took place in neither city. The majority of the production took place around Salt Lake City, Utah and Northeast Colorado.
In the opening scene, Lloyd, played by Jim Carrey, pulls up in a limousine and attempts to talk up an Austrian lady standing on this corner. The street sign says Hope St, but the real location is at the intersection of 700 S and 200 W in Salt Lake City.

The building the woman stands in front of has since been completely remodeled. Some tracks have also been added to the street for trolleys. However, the building on the opposite side of the street, seen in the background of several shots, still bears some resemblance to how it appeared in the film.
Also worth noting, this same intersection is used in another scene in the film, when Lloyd is driving Mary to the airport and turns around to talk, with his back to the road as he blows through a red light. He is driving down W 700 S and the same building can be seen on the left side of the frame.
During the opening credits, Harry, played by Jeff Daniels, is introduced driving the “Shaggin’ Wagon,” a van decorated like a dog to promote his grooming business, “Mutt Cutts.” After stopping off for hot dogs to feed his van full of dogs, he races through the city late for a dog show. He is seen passing this intersection.

Harry is seen again turning at this intersection, which is actually the same location as the shot above, facing the opposite direction.
Lloyd meets Mary Swanson, played by Lauren Holly, as he picks her up at her house, supposedly located in Providence. Mary’s house can be found on the grounds of La Caille, where several other scenes in the film were also shot, which we’ll cover later in this article. La Caille is a scenic area that is used for a variety of purposes. In addition to a restaurant, the property regularly hosts wedding photography and also has many guest houses around the grounds. Of all the filming locations on La Caille, Mary’s house is the most difficult to access. It is one of the guest houses on the grounds, often occupied by visitors who pay to stay in the home. The driveway leading down to the house is gated and marked as private. However, it is still possible to see a bit of the house from the gate, including the front door where the scene takes place.

Harry nearly runs down a jogger at this intersection, as he continues racing to the dog show.

Harry speeds down Technology Way in the city of Orem, Utah, where he jumps the truck in the air. The trees have grown significantly in the years since the film was shot, obscuring most of the background. However, just enough of the house in the distance remains visible enough to match it up with the film.

Here is a wider view of the street. It’s not as steep as it appears in the film. Low angles and the use of a ramp make it look like much bigger dip in the road. Technology Way is a very short road, with the jump filmed on the side nearest to E 1600 N St.
Harry finally arrives with the dogs for Mrs. Neugeboren at Palmer Court housing development in Salt Lake City.

Lloyd drops of Mary at the airport, supposedly located in Providence. It’s actually the Salt Lake City International Airport. The airport has since been remodeled, so these views can no longer be matched up.

Harry and Lloyd’s apartment exterior can also be found in Salt Lake City. Known as the Smith Apartments, the building has changed very little since filming took place and is immediately recognizable. The interior of the apartment was a set at Osmond Studios in Orem, Utah, which has since closed.

Harry and Lloyd escape from around this corner, mistakenly believing they are avoiding the gas man for late payments. As they turn the corner, a man can be seen in the background urinating against the brick wall of the neighboring building.
Here is where the blind boy, “Billy in 4C,” sits stroking the dead bird Petey that Lloyd sold him.
The scene where Lloyd gets robbed by an old lady was filmed just a few buildings down from Harry and Lloyd’s apartment. The building has unfortunately since been remodeled and the scene mostly just showed a sidewalk and wall anyways, so it may not look too recognizable. This stretch of sidewalk is where the scene took place, however.

Mary’s parents’ house in “Aspen” is actually located in Park City, Utah, the same town where the Sundance Film Festival famously takes place each year. You have to travel up a mountain to see it. There are many beautiful houses and majestic mountain views in the area.

Lloyd has a fantasy as he drives about striking up a romance with Mary. He arrives at this “house,” which is actually the La Caille restaurant in Sandy, Utah. It’s on the same grounds as Mary’s “Providence” house where she first meets Lloyd.

As Lloyd’s fantasy continues, he hosts a party in the same location. The room and fireplace in the scene are located on the second floor of the La Caille restaurant. There was one other scene shot on the grounds of La Caille, which was set at the pond. It was ultimately deleted from the film, however.
Harry and Lloyd stay at the honeymoon suite of The Second Time Is Best Motel. The exterior is actually the M-Star Hotel in Heber City, Utah. The interior was a set at the former Osmond Studios in Orem, Utah.

Harry and Lloyd have burgers with Mental at Dante’s Inferno. The building is now the American Legion Post in Ogden, Utah. While in Ogden, be sure to check out the swimming pool from “The Sandlot.”

The scene where Harry fills his van with gas, spilling fuel from under the dog’s leg was filmed at a former gas station in West Valley City (6381 W 2100 S, West Valley City, UT 84128). The gas station has since been completely removed and a trucking company has taken it’s place.
Lloyd stops off at a convenience store, where he sees some guys drinking big gulps. The building, now a lending company, is also located in Ogden.

The exterior of the snow owl benefit, supposedly located in Aspen, is the Devereaux Mansion in Salt Lake City.

The interior of the snow owl benefit scene was shot just across the street from the Devereaux Mansion, inside the Grand Hall of the former Union Pacific Depot, which is now a property called The Getaway. The Grand Hall is actually open to the public, but it has limited daily hours, so if you plan a visit, just be sure you go when it’s open. The far wall underneath the train mural, just left of the doorway is where the bar was set up in the film. The hall is quite large, so it was blocked from limited angles in order to be scaled down for the film.

Nicholas, the man behind the kidnapping of Mary’s husband, stays at this house in Kamas, Utah. Although the residence is in Kamas, it’s actually just a few blocks away from Mary’s parents’ house in Park City.
