Beverly Hills Ninja (1997)

The 1997 Chris Farley comedy “Beverly Hills Ninja” was filmed around Southern California. Haru, played by Farley, joins a clan of ninjas in Japan and trains in their martial arts. These scenes were filmed at the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, in their Japanese Garden.

The hotel scenes were filmed at the The Langham Huntington in Pasadena. The hotel has appeared in countless films, including “Seabiscut,” the 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap,” “Lovelace,” “Saving Mr. Banks,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Richie Rich A Christmas Wish” and many more. It has also appeared in the TV series “Westworld,” “Simon & Simon,” “Remington Steele,” “Highway to Heaven,” “Knots Landing” and more.

Haru disguises himself as a chef at Hop Louie in Chinatown, where a fight soon ensues.  The restaurant has since closed, but the facade still remains.  The same restaurant was also seen in the 1990s comedies “Surf Ninjas” and “Mystery Men,” as well as the film “I Love You, Man.”

Haru gets captured by his enemies and taken to a meeting with a rival gang at the Malibu Hindu Temple in Calabasas. The temple also appeared in the 1998 film “Jeans” and the TV series “The Big Bang Theory.”

Mac And Me (1988)

The house from the dubious 1988 film “Mac And Me” can be found in Calabasas, California,

The McDonald’s seen in the dance sequence can be found in City of Industry. However, it is not an actual dining restaurant. It is used solely as a production studio for commercials and filming projects. The same location can be seen in the films “Bye Bye Love.”

A Star Is Born (2018)

Bradley Cooper directed and starred alongside Lady Gaga in the 2018 remake of “A Star is Born,” which was filmed largely around Los Angeles.  Early in the film, Ally, played by Lady Gaga, quits her job at a restaurant.  This was filmed in the kitchen of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.  Ally can be seen walking up the loading ramp just past the hotel on S Grand Ave.  The same alley can be seen in the film “Chinatown” (on the upper ramp to the right) and from the reverse angle in the film “Seven.”

Jack and Ally sit in front of the Super A Foods market late at night as Ally nurses an injured hand.  The same market was used in the films “Once Upon A Time In… Hollywood” and “Crossroads.”

Jack and Ally begin living together in a house near the woods, located in Calabasas.  Since filming completed, the property is now surrounded by a fence.  However, due to the downward slope of the land from the road, the house is still easily visible from several areas.

Jack’s garage, seen in several scenes in the film, is not fenced off and sits very close to the road.

Jack is awoken on the street curb in front of his friend Noodles’ house, supposedly located in Memphis.  The real home can be found in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of East L.A.

The home itself is only seen from interiors and side angles from the opposite side of the fence in the film.  The same house can be seen as the party house in the 1980s comedy “Teen Wolf” and was featured on an episode of the TV series “This Is Us.”  Directly next door is also the house of Chloë Grace Moretz’s character in “(500) Days Of Summer.”
