You, Me And Dupree (2006)

In the 2006 comedy “You, Me and Dupree,” Molly, played by Kate Winslet, lives in this house with Carl, played by Matt Dillon. The home, located in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, was curiously given a second story by the film production using vfx.

The Thompson building where Carl works is the former Nikken Building in Irvine, California, now known as the Masimo Building.  The same building has been used in many other productions, including “Iron Man,” “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” and “All About Steve.”

Pineapple Express (2008)

In the 2008 comedy “Pineapple Express,” Dale, played by Seth Rogen, witnesses a murder at this unique house in Glendale, California.

Dale then rushes to the apartment of his drug dealer Saul, played by James Franco, as the two go on the run.

Superbad (2007)

The 2007 comedy “Superbad” shot all around Southern California, including the San Fernando Valley, El Segundo, Culver City and more.  The high school scenes were filmed at El Segundo High School.

Here is the front entrance of the school, also seen in the film.  The same high school has been used in many films, including “WarGames,” “Role Models” and “The Babysitter.”

The “Good Shopper” supermarket where Seth, played by Jonah Hill, attempts to steal alcohol, only to back out after visions of being murdered, was filmed at Jon’s Market in Glendale.

LOCATION: 1717 W Glenoaks Blvd, Glendale, CA 91201

The liquor store where “McLovin” attempts to buy alcohol, only to wind up caught in the middle of a robbery, was filmed at a real liquor store, also located in Glendale.  The scene where Seth gets hit by a car was also filmed in this same parking lot.

The party house where Evan and Seth try yet again to steal alcohol can be found in Northridge.  It’s located on the same street as the house from another Seth Rogen film, “Knocked Up.”

LOCATION: 17711 Community St, Northridge, CA 91325

Bailey’s Bar and Grill, where the cops take McLovin, was actually the Buggy Whip restaurant in Westchester.  It was seen in several other films, including “Blow,” “The Doors” and “Date Night.”  Unfortunately, the restaurant closed in 2013 and was demolished in 2017. It could be found at 7420 La Tijera Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045.

Neighbors (2014)

The 2014 comedy “Neighbors,” starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, as well as it’s sequel, “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” starring Chloe Grace Moretz filmed around Midtown, Los Angeles, California.

Seth Rogan and his wife, played by Rose Byrne, move into this house in hopes of having a quiet homestead to raise their infant daughter.

Unbeknownst to them, a wild fraternity, led by Zac Efron, has just moved in next door as well to host their frat parties.  As you can guess, a comedic feud arises.

As seen in the film, the two homes really are located right beside one another.  The houses were once again used in the 2016 sequel, “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising,” when a sorority moves in and the neighbor feud is reignited.

One of the frat houses where a party takes place was filmed at a property known as The Beckett Mansion, located in the West Adams neighborhood.  The house actually operates as an event space and filming location year round.  The same house has been featured in Rob Zombie’s “Halloween,” “True Romance,” “No Strings Attached” and many more.  It’s also located directly across the street from the house from “The People Under The Stairs.”

Knocked Up (2007)

Ben Stone, played by Seth Rogan in the 2007 comedy “Knocked Up,” lives with his buddies at this house in Northridge, California.  Unfortunately, the house has somewhat limited visibility from the road.  You can see this view from the driveway.  The rest of the property is obscured by a large wall covered by plants.  Another Seth Rogen comedy, “Superbad,” filmed scenes of a party house on the same street.

LOCATION: 17800 Community St, Northridge, CA 91325

Alison visits her sister Debbie, played by Leslie Mann at this Brentwood home.  Debbie and her husband Pete, played by Paul Rudd, would become the subject of their own spin-off to this film, “This Is 40.”  The same house was used in both films.  This property is also gated, with a wall running along the street, so while it’s likewise not easily visible, it too can still be seen from a couple angles.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin (2005)

“The 40 Year-Old Virgin” introduced us to the films of Judd Apatow, who would go on to make a string of hit comedies.  Andy, played by still Steve Carell, lives in this Studio City, California apartment, which still closely resembles how it appeared in the film.  The same building was used in the film “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.”
