Prometheus (2012)

In the 2012 Ridley Scott film “Prometheus,” a prequel to his 1979 film “Alien,” this RT01 Transport vehicle was intended for use exploring “LV-223,” a moon thought to be home to humankind’s alien ancestors. This was one of three RTs built for the film and the only one with a fully outfitted interior for filming. The vehicle could be found on display at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California, which ran an exhibit entitled “Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles Of Science Fiction and Fantasy” from May 2019 through May 2020.

2 Days In The Valley (1996)

The 1996 film “2 Days in the Valley” tells the story of the lives of several characters intersecting, as the title suggests, over two days in the San Fernando Valley.  The wealthy art dealer Allan Hopper, played by Greg Crutwell, becomes sick in the streets next to a night club.  This scene was shot in Sherman Oaks.

Two detectives, played by Jeff Daniels and Eric Stoltz, stake out a massage parlor.  Wes Taylor, played by Stoltz, questions whether the stakeout is a suitable use of their time, while Alvin Strayer, played by Daniels, insists it is important.

Dosmo Pizzo, played by Danny Aiello, seeks refuge at the home of Allan Hooper.  The home, which sits on a hillside in Studio City, unfortunately is not visible from the road.  Here is a glimpse of the entrance.

One of the most memorable scenes in the film is the fight between Becky Foxx, played by Teri Hatcher and Helga Svelgen, played the Charlize Theron.  These scenes were filmed at the St. George Motor Inn in Tarzana.  The exteriors are seen briefly, but most of the scene takes place inside one of the rooms.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

The Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California ran an exhibit entitled “Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles Of Science Fiction and Fantasy” from May 2019 through May 2020.  Included on display were some vehicles from the George Miller modern classic “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Max, played by Tom Hardy, drives this recognizable 1973 Main Force Patrol V-8 Interceptor.

Here is the car Nux, played by Nicholas Hoult, drives in the film, chasing after Furiousa, played by Charlize Theron.  The vehicle features a front-mounted crucifix to hold blood bags.
