In the 1941 Orson Wells film “Citizen Kane,” the lavish estate of Charles Foster Kane, Xanadu, is depicted during an early newsreel scene. Supposedly located in Florida, the real exteriors were filmed around Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Here are a few of the areas seen in the film.
