Tales From The Hood (1995)

The Simms Funeral Home from the 1995 horror anthology from “Tales From the Hood” can be found in the historic Angelino Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.

Duke Metger, played by Corbin Bernsen, plays a racist running for governor. Duke’s home was filmed at the Banning House in Wilmington, California.  Built in 1863, the property was also seen in the 1992 Danny Aiello film “Ruby,” as well as 1998’s “Primary Colors” and the TV shows “Quantum Leap” and “Bronk.”  The house currently operates as a museum and is open the the public.

Jingle All The Way (1996)

The 1996 holiday comedy “Jingle All the Way,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, was primarily filmed around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, with a few additional scenes filmed around Southern California.

The opening “Turbo Man” sequence takes place at Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce, California.  Countless films have also shot scenes at Vasquez Rocks, including “The Flintstones,” “Dante’s Peak,” “Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back,” “Starship Troopers,” “Hail, Caesar!,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Paul,” “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” “Hell Comes to Frogtown” and dozens more.  Television shows which featured Vasquez Rocks in episodes include “The Fugutive,” “The A-Team,” “MacGuyver” and perhaps most famous of all, the original “Star Trek” series, where the rocks were seen in numerous episodes, serving as multiple different planets.  The rocks are part of a Natural Area Park and open to the public from sunrise to sunset.

Howard Langston, played by Schwarzenegger, lives with his family at this home, located near Edina, Minnesota.

Ted, played by Phil Hartman, lives next door at this home.

LOCATION: 5026 Bruce Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55424

After running out of gas, Howard pushes his car to Mickey’s Dining Car. Only the exterior was used in the film, the interior scenes were built on a set. The same diner has been seen in the films “The Mighty Ducks,” “D2: The Mighty Ducks,” “D3: The Mighty Ducks” and “A Prairie Home Companion.” At this time, the diner is closed indefinitely, but it is rumored to potentially reopen sometime in 2022.

The Gambler (2014)

In the 2014 film “The Gambler,” Jim Bennett, played by Mark Wahlberg, lives in this home, located in Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles. The house is slightly tricky to find. N Beverly Glen Blvd is a very busy street and there’s no immediate spot to turn once you reach the house. Instead, you actually turn near 795 N Beverly Glen Blvd, which looks like a private driveway, but actually has a path that leads up to several other homes, including this one. There’s also a foot path that leads up. The other homes tucked away in this little area are also very interesting.

Wild Things (1998)

The 1998 thriller “Wild Things,” starring Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell and Denise Richards, was filmed in Florida. In the film, Kelly Van Ryan, played by Richards, lives at this home with her mother Sandra, played by Theresa Russell. The front of the house is seen when Sam Lombardo, played by Dillon, gives Kelly a ride home.

LOCATION: 40 E Star Island Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139

The house can be found on the famed Star Island in Miami Beach. While Star Island isn’t technically private, it does have a guarded entrance and you’ll have to speak with the guard in order to gain access. However, there are many boat tours that will take you around the island. Just disregard their information about filming locations, as most of it is fabricated and incorrect. In one scene, Kelly can be seen standing near the water in this area skeet shooting.

Kelly gets into an altercation with Suzie Toller, played by Campbell, at the pool. The two then proceed to have sex in the pool while Sergeant Ray Duquette, played by Kevin Bacon, secretly videotapes them.

Sam is accused of rape and stands on trial at the Dade County Courthouse.  The building was also seen in the 1981 Sydney Pollack film “Absence of Malice” and the 1995 action film “Bad Boys.”

Malignant (2021)

The 2021 James Wan horror film “Malignant” is set in Seattle, Washington. While some scenes did shoot there, a good portion of the film was shot in Southern California. Madison, played by Annabelle Wallis, lives in this home, which can be found in Pasadena.

As is the case with most films set in Seattle, the famous Space Needle appears in an establishing shot of the city. It has appeared in films such as “The Parallax View,” “Singles” and many more.

Dr. Florence Weaver, played by Jacqueline McKenzie, lives at this home, located in Altadena.

LOCATION: 1686 Homewood Dr, Altadena, CA 91001

The exterior of the police station can be found in Downtown Los Angeles. The same building can be seen in the films “Velvet Buzzsaw” and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?,” as well as the TV show “Supergirl.”

Madison has visions of a murder and leads police to the “Silvercup” Apartments sign. The sign was a visual effect added by the production and does not exist at the real building.

The Pike Place Public Market Center makes a brief appearance as Madison drives with her sister Sydney, played by Maddie Hasson.

The Holiday (2006)

The 2006 romantic comedy “The Holiday,” tells the story of two women, one from England, the other from Los Angeles, who decide to swap homes for a two week holiday. Production likewise took place around England and Los Angeles. Amanda, played by Cameron Diaz, owns this home, located in San Marino. Iris, played by Kate Winslet, takes residence here while on holiday.

LOCATION: 1883 Orlando Rd, San Marino, CA 91108

The cottage where Iris lives was a set built on an empty field in Shere, Guildford, England, which was demolished after filming. The approximate GPS coordinates are 51°13’06.1″N, 0°27’38.4″W. Several backgrounds of the small village can still be matched up, however.

A Kind Of Murder (2016)

The 2016 thriller “A Kind of Murder,” starring Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel, is set in New York, but actually filmed in Southern Ohio and Kentucky. In the film, Walter and Clara Stackhouse, played by Wilson and Biel, live in this home which is located in Cincinnati.

Ouija (2014)

The 2014 horror film “Oujia” was filmed in Southern California. The house of Debbie Galardi, played by Shelley Hennig, can be found in Highland Park. Only the exterior was featured in the film. The same home appeared in the film “Phantasm II.”

The interior of Debbie’s home was filmed at this location, also in Highland Park. The interiors of the same home appeared in the prequel “Ouija: Origin of Evil.” The house also appeared in the films “Lights Out” and “Chez Upshaw.”

Laine Morris, played by Olivia Cooke, lives at this home, located in Altadena.

LOCATION: 480 Deodara Dr, Altadena, CA 91001

The high school scenes were filmed at John Muir High School in Pasadena. The same school appeared in the TV series “Sons of Anarchy.”

The restaurant where Isabelle, played by Bianca Santos, works can be found in Eagle Rock. The restaurant also appeared in the film “Surviving Christmas.” It has been used in many TV shows, such as “Sons of Anarchy,” “Dead to Me,” “Aquarius,” “Parenthood,” “Secrets and Lies” and “Maron,” as well as the Justin Timberlake music video for “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”

Laine visits Paulina Zander, played by Lin Shaye, who is committed to a psychiatric hospital. This same building has appeared in the prequel “Oujia: Origin of Evil,” as well as the films “The Cable Guy,” “Twins,” “American Pie 2,” “Changeling,” “Annabelle: Creation,” “The Ring 2,” “Puppet Master II,” “Truth or Dare,” “Where Sleeping Dogs Lie,” “Species III” and many more. It has also appeared in numerous TV shows, such as “Westworld,” “You,” “American Crime Story,” “Teen Wolf,” “Bosch: Legacy” and more.

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle (1992)

The 1992 Curtis Hanson thriller “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” starring Rebecca De Mornay, was filmed in Washington. The house of Claire and Michael Bartel, played by Annabella Sciorra and Matt McCoy, can be found in Tacoma. Nanny Peyton Flanders, played by De Mornay also takes residence in the home.
