Beverly Hills Ninja (1997)

The 1997 Chris Farley comedy “Beverly Hills Ninja” was filmed around Southern California. Haru, played by Farley, joins a clan of ninjas in Japan and trains in their martial arts. These scenes were filmed at the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, in their Japanese Garden.

The hotel scenes were filmed at the The Langham Huntington in Pasadena. The hotel has appeared in countless films, including “Seabiscut,” the 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap,” “Lovelace,” “Saving Mr. Banks,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Richie Rich A Christmas Wish” and many more. It has also appeared in the TV series “Westworld,” “Simon & Simon,” “Remington Steele,” “Highway to Heaven,” “Knots Landing” and more.

Haru disguises himself as a chef at Hop Louie in Chinatown, where a fight soon ensues.  The restaurant has since closed, but the facade still remains.  The same restaurant was also seen in the 1990s comedies “Surf Ninjas” and “Mystery Men,” as well as the film “I Love You, Man.”

Haru gets captured by his enemies and taken to a meeting with a rival gang at the Malibu Hindu Temple in Calabasas. The temple also appeared in the 1998 film “Jeans” and the TV series “The Big Bang Theory.”

Airheads (1994)

The 1994 comedy “Airheads,” starring Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler, was filmed around Los Angeles, California. The exterior of the KPPX Rebel Radio station, where much of the film takes place is actually located on the grounds of Fox Plaza, more famously known for it’s appearance as Nakatomi Plaza in “Die Hard.” This building sits opposite the back entrance of the main building and connects to a parking structure, in an area typically off limits to the general public.

The main Fox Plaza building in also seen many times in the film, such as when the band first arrives at the radio station.

Chazz, played by Brendan Fraser, unsuccessfully tries to submit a demo to Palatine Records.

The apartment of Kayla, played by Amy Locane, can be found in Hollywood. There are limited views from the street.

LOCATION: 1600 N Bronson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028

The Lone Rangers band lives in this apartment building overlooking Hollywood.

LOCATION: 6326 Franklin Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028

The address is listed as Franklin Ave, which is deceptive. The road is atop a hillside, separating it from the main road of Franklin Ave. You actually need to take Yucca St to Ivar Ave to access it.

The band catches a show at the famous Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood. The venue pops up again later in the film when Officer Wilson, played by Chris Farley, goes looking for Kayla.

Black Sheep (1996)

The 1996 comedy “Black Sheep,” starring Chris Farley and David Spade, takes place in Washington.  However, much of the film actually shot in Southern California.  The house of Mike Donnelly, played by Chris Farley, can be found in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles.
