“The Golden Palace” was a spin-off of the classic sitcom “The Golden Girls,” which aired for one season from 1992 to 1993. The show tells the story of Blanche, Rose, and Sophia opening a hotel in Miami. The hotel, known as “The Golden Palace,” is actually known as “The Carlyle” and can be found along the famous Ocean Dr in Miami Beach. The same hotel was featured in the films “The Birdcage” and “Scarface,” as well as the TV show “Miami Vice.”
Much of the television series “Squid Game” was filmed on studio sets in South Korea, but there are several real locations you can visit as well. This article contains some spoilers for the show, so we recommend proceeding only if you’ve seen it in its entirety.
In the first episode, Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, gets picked up to join the Squid Game at this location, just outside IFC Mall in Seoul. This same area pops up again near the end of the series.
LOCATION: Yeoui-daero, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea (GPS coordinates: 37.524677, 126.924939, across from IFC Mall)
Gi-hun drinks soju and eats uncooked ramen with the old man, Oh Il-nam, played by Oh Yeong-su, at this store front. You can eat in the same spot the characters sat on the right side. The store became a popular destination after the success of the show.
LOCATION: 11 Uicheon-ro 39-gil, Dobong-gu, Seoul, South Korea
The store has a sign out front for the show, as well as numerous printings from the show posted along the front. We didn’t want to to disturb the guests eating there too much, however, so we only photographed one of these spots.
In the final episode, Gi-hun finally meets the creator of the Squid Game at this building, which is actually part of IFC Mall. This isn’t the exact angle seen in the establishing shot, but it is the same building and the same angle of where the creator looks out the window down on the streets.
LOCATION: IFC Mall, 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeoui-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea
The game creator makes a wager with Gi-hun on whether anyone will help an unconscious man lying on the sidewalk before midnight. The area is right beside Billy Angel Cake Company, which is partially seen in the show.
LOCATION: 30 Dadong-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Here is the specific spot where the unconscious man lies.

The television series “Mindhunter,” executive produced by David Fincher, who also directed seven episodes, tells the story of two FBI agents and a psychologist who develop the Behavioral Science Unit to understand the psychology of serial killers. Agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, travel the country interviewing convicted serial killers. The series was primarily filmed in the Pittsburgh area, with the city often standing in for other cities, most notably as Atlanta in Season Two.
In the opening scene of the series, Holden Ford contends with a hostage situation, said to be in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Braddock is indeed where the scene was shot.
LOCATION: 218 7th St, Braddock, PA 15104
Here is a closer look at the area where the man holds a woman hostage.
Here is the area where Holden stands and attempts to negotiate.
Bill Tench’s house is seen frequently throughout the series. The home can be found in Pittsburgh.
The Tanner family house from the sitcom ALF, which ran from 1986 to 1990, could be found in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The home has since been demolished and an entirely different home was built in it’s place. Here is where the house formerly stood. Some old Google street views still offer views of the original home.
LOCATION: 708 Moreno Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90049 (now demolished)
The television drama “Thirtysomething,” which ran from 1987 – 1991, was set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but actually filmed in Southern California. The exterior for the house of Hope and Michael, played by Mel Harris and Ken Olin, can be found in South Pasadena. The same home appeared in the film “Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael.”
LOCATION: 1710 Bushnell Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030
The TV series “Kidding,” starring Jim Carrey, is set in Columbus, Ohio. However, the show was filmed in Southern California. It is a somewhat regular occurrence that filming locations around Greater Los Angeles are lost, due to rampant remodeling or demolition. For “Kidding,” the opposite events happened. The homes previously standing at the addresses were heavily remodeled, with the updated properties becoming two major locations featured in the show. Carrey plays Jeff Pickles, a famous children’s television show host, whose private life is falling apart. Jeff’s estranged wife Jill, played by Judy Greer, lives with their son at this home, located in Studio City.
LOCATION: 4227 Goodland Ave, Studio City, CA 91604
Jeff ends up purchasing the home directly next door.
LOCATION: 4221 Goodland Ave, Studio City, CA 91604 (Note: some mapping systems list this address as North Hollywood)
